A few of you who attended the Philosophy Workshop back in September may have an interest in the upcoming Philosophy Cafe readings. This group meets at the Barnes and Noble in Town and Country from 4-6 pm every third Sunday.
Our next set of readings (see below) features mostly short readings from Hegel and some more or less contemporary European Hegelians. One of those, Slavoj Zizek, has said that the 21st will be Hegel's century.
The first 2 readings, for our next meeting on February 19, are attached. Both of these readings combined amount to less than 40 pages. By the way, these readings are somewhat complementary. The Introduction to the Encyclopedia Logic seems to deal more with the question, what is philosophy? The Introduction to the Science of Logic deals more with Hegel's view of the nature of logic. Both will be important as we move into the Introductions to the second and third parts of the Encyclopedia.
